Tonewood Log Sales

Gifford Pinchot (1865-1946), father of modern American forestry and conservationist, felt that natural resources be optimized for the most valuable products, to be used by the most number of people, for the longest time. Our tonewood log sale is one such example. Our foresters select choice spruce trees for the tonewood market.

Minimum specifications are: logs 15 to 18 inches in diameter, 6ft. 6in. to 12ft. 6in. in length, with straight grain, a well-centered heart, and with minimal latewood. These are truly high-value logs.

Tonewood, or music wood, is ideal construction material for stringed instruments and pianos. All of our logs are harvested right here in Maine.
